On 16.8.2001 the time has finally come. The Miniatur Wunderland opens! We spent almost a year building our life’s work. It’s not finished yet, but the first construction phase is now complete. This means that 300 of the 544 square meters of dream landscape have been realized. Over 30,000 hours of work have already been completed! These 300 square meters of pure investment space will be available from 16.8. open to the public. From the end of September, the public will be able to watch live as the second section is built.
In the end, 500 trains with 7000 wagons will run on 5000 meters of track. Almost 10,000 kg of plaster were and are needed to form a beautiful landscape. Over 20,000 little figures, 50,000 trees and 20,000 lights round off the “Miniatur Wunderland” family experience. Hamburg receives the largest H0 model railroadin Europe from us.

Two important press dates are available:
– Wednesday, 08.08.2001 to Wednesday, 15.08.2001: The team and management will be available daily for questions, photos etc. Please give us notice of your visit by calling 040/36091157.
– Admission for invited guests is on 16.08.2001 at 10:00 am. Our mayor Ortwin Runde will then officially open Miniatur Wunderland at around 11:00 am. You are also welcome from 10:00 am.
