Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg
The largest model railway in the world

Pressinfo 8/2004 – Keywords of today’s issue:

Third birthday on 16 August 2004
Crazy statistics from three years of Miniatur Wunderland. For example, our trains have already travelled around the world 10 times.

Over 1.5 million visitors already
Miniatur Wunderland is Hamburg’s most successful attraction. More visitors than the musicals The Lion King or Mamma Mia, for example.

Over 120,000 guests from Berlin!
Berlin is one of the most important federal states for us, accounting for over eight per cent of visitors. This is an overwhelming result and proof that we have an incredible number of friends in Berlin.

Next construction phase launched:
Scandinavia, with 20 tonnes of real water.
The fourth of eight construction phases has just started. It will take one year for our 60 modellers to complete Scandinavia, the largest section to date. This means that Miniatur Wunderland will grow to over 1,000 square metres and will remain out of reach for the copies that are being built everywhere as a result of our success…

Our own developments lead to success
Our own developments, such as the unique car system (cars that move as if by magic) or the day/night control system, generate a great deal of enthusiasm. 1,000 funny details are taken home as inspiration for your own model railway.
