Something big is coming to Hamburg – the Football World Cup, which will probably captivate us all even more than we can imagine today…
Of course, we have already been thinking about what we can do for this major event. Here are our first realisations:
Opening hours
We will of course have extended opening hours during the World Cup. At the moment we have scheduled 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily from 10 June to 9 July, but we have prepared our team for considerable extensions. If necessary, we might just stay open through the night
Live broadcast of the games
All games that fall within our opening hours will be broadcast live on the big screen in our seminar room. There will certainly be a great atmosphere here. All matches will also be shown live on the small screens in our AOL Arena. And last but not least, there will be a few fan parties in our Hamburg section where the games will also be shown live. However, we recommend that you find a solution for reducing the size to 1:100 beforehand. Then you can also really join in the celebrations here
AOL Arena
In our AOL Arena, everything will be trimmed for the World Cup and all branding will be customised. For each match, the spectators will be provided with hundreds of matching flags and, of course, the players will wear the jerseys on the pitch. Incidentally, it took around 1,500 hours of work to recreate this beautiful stadium and with 12,000 small spectators, it is of course always completely sold out
Blue Goals by Michael Batz
Of course, the now world-famous “Blue Goals Hamburg” by the renowned theatre maker and light artist Michael Batz should not be missing here. For the past week, 22 Blue Goals have been shining in Miniatur Wunderland!
Fan parties
Our young residents will follow the World Cup on large screens (screen diagonals between 40 and 80 millimetres!). Our ‘Miwulans’ are really looking forward to the World Cup. Two public squares will be made party-ready for the World Cup. Thousands of Miwulans will enjoy the games there. Our older visitors will of course be able to watch these broadcasts, but we have also been given permission to broadcast them in our cinema and bistro, which is a little more eye-friendly. Wunderland guests can watch all the games live during opening hours.
Car parade
If teams with many fans in and around Hamburg are successful (Germany, Turkey, Italy, Greece etc.), there will of course be various car parades in Miniatur Wunderland after the game.
