Semi-final! Just two more wins and we’ll be world champions. The euphoria in Wunderland is already unstoppable. Our 215,000 mini-inhabitants have been celebrating the World Cup extensively in all eight of our worlds for weeks now.

Dear journalists,

Semi-final! Just two more wins and we’ll be world champions. The euphoria in Wunderland is already unstoppable. Our 215,000 mini-inhabitants have been celebrating the World Cup extensively in all eight of our worlds for weeks now. Motorcades full of German fans are flocking to the terminal at Knuffingen Airport and thousands of little Preisers are euphorically celebrating the team’s progress to the semi-finals at a number of fan festivals. Or a shepherd watching soccer with his animals on a mountain pasture, miners sitting underground in front of the tube, surfers racing through the sea with a black, red and gold sail or the Hermann monument wrapped in what is probably the longest fan scarf in the world. Our model makers have created a number of small scenes for the World Cup and will continue to do so every day until the end. The World Cup has also arrived on the rails. Our World Cup train, originally with 32 wagons, is currently still making its rounds through Wonderland with the remaining 8 until the end of the quarter-finals. The 24 wagons that have been eliminated are all already on the side track.

The Supermüller, Miniatur Wunderland’s new superhero, who kicked us into the round of 16 in the preliminary round, can also be found everywhere in our park. He stops an American Amtrak with one hand, puts out fires and takes on biting sharks. We made a two-and-a-half-minute tribute to him in the form of an elaborate stop-motion video. Since its release, the clip has spread rapidly online. Over a quarter of a million people have already watched the video on YouTube. The perfect video to reflect on the quarter-final victory. Why not take two minutes to watch this funny clip about the supermüller and share it with your friends?

http://youtu.be/wGnUlzgz6jo

For all North German journalists: You are more than welcome to view and photograph the scenes on site. We would be delighted to welcome you to Miniatur Wunderland over the next few days and experience the World Cup fever together. If you can’t / don’t want to come to Wunderland, we have many photos available for download in our press area.

To the semi-final, a glittering night of victory and two more wins,

Frederik Braun

P.S.: You can download pictures of various fan scenes from Wonderland, as well as a few screenshots from the Supermüller video, here: http://www.miniatur-wunderland.de/fileadmin/media/miwula-pi-wm-2014.zip

P.P.S. If you would like to see another video to match the mood, we would recommend our miniature version of Seeed’s Pretty Thing. Our World Cup version of the song has also been clicked on over 100,000 times in the last few days. http://youtu.be/r7Q3IB2zO-M

The post Wunderland in World Cup madness – We’re in the semi-finals! first appeared on Miniatur Wunderland.

Something big is coming to Hamburg – the Football World Cup, which will probably captivate us all even more than we can imagine today…

Of course, we have already been thinking about what we can do for this major event. Here are our first realisations:

Opening hours
We will of course have extended opening hours during the World Cup. At the moment we have scheduled 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily from 10 June to 9 July, but we have prepared our team for considerable extensions. If necessary, we might just stay open through the night

Live broadcast of the games
All games that fall within our opening hours will be broadcast live on the big screen in our seminar room. There will certainly be a great atmosphere here. All matches will also be shown live on the small screens in our AOL Arena. And last but not least, there will be a few fan parties in our Hamburg section where the games will also be shown live. However, we recommend that you find a solution for reducing the size to 1:100 beforehand. Then you can also really join in the celebrations here

AOL Arena
In our AOL Arena, everything will be trimmed for the World Cup and all branding will be customised. For each match, the spectators will be provided with hundreds of matching flags and, of course, the players will wear the jerseys on the pitch. Incidentally, it took around 1,500 hours of work to recreate this beautiful stadium and with 12,000 small spectators, it is of course always completely sold out

Blue Goals by Michael Batz
Of course, the now world-famous “Blue Goals Hamburg” by the renowned theatre maker and light artist Michael Batz should not be missing here. For the past week, 22 Blue Goals have been shining in Miniatur Wunderland!

Fan parties
Our young residents will follow the World Cup on large screens (screen diagonals between 40 and 80 millimetres!). Our ‘Miwulans’ are really looking forward to the World Cup. Two public squares will be made party-ready for the World Cup. Thousands of Miwulans will enjoy the games there. Our older visitors will of course be able to watch these broadcasts, but we have also been given permission to broadcast them in our cinema and bistro, which is a little more eye-friendly. Wunderland guests can watch all the games live during opening hours.

Car parade
If teams with many fans in and around Hamburg are successful (Germany, Turkey, Italy, Greece etc.), there will of course be various car parades in Miniatur Wunderland after the game.

The post WM 2006 in Miniatur Wunderland first appeared on Miniatur Wunderland.
